What are the responsibilities of the Communications Chair?
1. Provides press releases and articles to the Denver Catholic Register and the CCSCF web site to share the work and achievements of the CCSCF.
2. Takes and maintains minutes of all CCSCF committee meetings.
3. Promotes Scouting as a current and viable program that can be used to reinforce or expand the outreach of the parish-centered (or other Catholic organizations) youth programs and objectives.
4. Promote the activities of the Catholic Committee on Scouting and Camp Fire (CCSCF) at Boy Scout Round-tables, and provides flyers and information for the Girl Scouts and Camp Fire to disseminate.
5. Works with Catholic chartered organizations to encourage each unit to a) Promotes youth participation in the emblems programs, and, b) Encourages unit leaders to share items of interest, and participants who have been awarded emblems through parish bulletins and other media.
6. Assists the local council personnel, clergy, lay people and Scouting leaders under Catholic Auspices with promoting the activities of the Catholic committee. for example, prepares 100-150 word articles for use in the BSA Council newspaper and web site.
7. Communicates upcoming CCSCF events to the Youth Ministers of the Archdiocese.
